This year, now well into spring, will undoubtedly be very significant for the company. The challenges Zetrack faces in 2025 are the result of the hard work of innovation, design, and development carried out in previous years, striving to continually improve the product and always in collaboration with the best collaborators.
2024 was particularly fruitful for Zetrack E-Farming. The company presented prototypes of the first electric, autonomous tractor designed and manufactured in Spain. One of them, at the invitation of EIT Food, was shown at the 7th Datagri Forum to promote digital transformation in the agri-food sector, which took place in November.
To carry out this development, Zetrack had the support of Quipplan, an investment partner with experience in product and prototype development, and the capabilities of collaborators such as the technological centers of the Basque Science and Technology Network and its technological partner Digital Workbench.
Subsequently, with the support of companies in the sector such as Actiture Dos Mil, J.F. Arriezu, Garaia Koop. or Virto, with which Zetrack develops some of its projects, and within the framework of the Test Farms program of the European organization EIT Food, field tests will begin to develop use cases in special crops, vegetables and woody crops.
Market the product
Once the improvements have been identified, they will be incorporated into future versions with a view to marketing the “first robot tractor made in Spain,” as it was dubbed at the Datagri Forum.
With the aim of becoming a leader in the field of robotics and electrification of agricultural machinery, the Zetrack team, which will continue to grow this year in response to the company’s demands, has the most advanced technological and production resources on the market.
Zetrack customers, a new generation of farmers committed to professional, sustainable, and automated management of their work, will see significant improvements in efficiency and energy costs thanks to, among other advantages, the use of interchangeable batteries, taking the user experience to a new level.
A shared project
The combined efforts are reflected in the multiple tasks carried out by the company with the help of different actors.
It has done so, alongside renowned collaborators in the sector, such as its own partner, Agria Hispania, in the Auto AVS project (Autonomous Agricultural Vehicle Solutions, ZL 2024/00318), co-financed by the Basque Government’s Department of Economic Development, Sustainability and Environment through the Hazitek programme and by the European Union’s European Regional Development Fund (FEDER).
Programs such as Ekintzaile+ and Fast Track Innobideak have reaffirmed or demonstrated their support for the project for the first time, given its high development prospects and commitment to recruiting talent, in the former case, and its goal of supporting the final stages of testing, demonstrations, pilots, trials, and improvements in real-world environments, in the latter.
NEOTEC’s support, which will help the company implement the final phase of the prototype’s robotics system, has positioned Zetrack among the best proposals submitted in 2024, among the sixty chosen out of 450 submitted, and being the first of only two Agritech projects approved.
Finally, and reflecting this common European commitment to the transition toward a more sustainable digital infrastructure, paving the way for cleaner energy and more efficient use of resources, Zetrack is participating alongside 50 other partners from across Europe in the O-CEI project, within the Horizon Europe program, specifically in Pilot 6. O-CEI seeks to create an open platform with a strong focus on interoperability, security, and reliability, facilitating collaboration and data exchange across different sectors in real time. This will enable faster and more accurate predictions about energy flexibility, helping consumers better adapt to energy demand.
Zetrack’s participation in this project aims to optimize energy consumption in agricultural industries, thereby contributing to the energy transition in agriculture.
