In a forum aimed at presenting investments in the industrial sector, Bergera described that the current challenges of the agricultural sector represent a good future opportunity for ZETRACK, a company with a technological profile aimed at the development and manufacture of new machinery and intelligent solutions for agriculture.
Currently, agriculture faces great challenges such as adaptation to increasingly demanding regulation on the quality and sustainability of agricultural processes, scarcity and difficulty in ensuring a stable workforce and rapid technological changes and digitalization to gain efficiency.
Spain is a leader in specialty crops. In Europe, more than half of producers cite labor shortages as their main challenge and 85% believe that labor costs, which represent more than 50% of production, will increase in the next three to five years between 10 and 30%.
On the other hand, the demand for certified organic farming products increases and management models evolve due to greater integration of the supply chain and decision centers: specialized operators, larger extensions and intensive crops, cooperatives, processing companies, distribution and funds. investment
All of this leads to a clear trend towards improving productivity through automation and caring for and improving the comprehensive sustainability of processes, including decarbonization.
Weeding, planting, pruning or harvesting are some activities with the most potential for automation among specialty crop producers and demand and investment in automating these processes continues to increase.
To respond to these needs, in addition to traditional machinery manufacturers, a new segment of companies is emerging that provide solutions adapted to new technologies, mainly through the use of drones and zero-emission agricultural robots.
ZETRACK eFarming aspires to soon belong to this group of emerging companies thanks to its autonomous robot tractors and contribute to Spain having an Agrotech sector at the height of its global role in special crops.
